I would encourage everyone to take some sore of medical training. The basic first aid course & CPR is a good start and only takes 4-6 hours to learn. You never know when you will need it. Also it is a good tool to barder with. A EMT-Basic is a better step which takes a semester. This will give you the basics for most medical emergencies. I have been in the medical field for many years as first responder, CNA & EMT and I could not count how many times I have used me skills outside work. The medical questions for non-medical people is another thing I get a lot. The training will also give you a base on to which you can build your medical supplies.
