Did you ever read "Lucifer's Hammer", by Larry Niven?
In it there is a fellow at the gate, unarmed, to meet people that arrive.
When the Mail Man or someone showed up, He had to think,
"If I raise my hands, they get shot."
The theory being that if the visitor is aggresive, the greetor raised his hands in acquiesence, and the real "Guard" with a rifle is hidden off to the side.
We may get to where we have to do such, and greet folks with care.
My feeling about NRA signs are that the SHTF days will have some warning, and for now SUPPORT of the NRA is good.
When things get too far gone, pull or cover the stickers.
